Sorcha McNamara travelled to Riga, Latvia to undertake the Black Holes residency as part of the Creative Europe project Artist-Run Network Europe. The residency took place at Totaldobže Art Centre, where seven international artists explored collaboration and sharing through play, board games, colour-hunting, silent awareness walks, and dancing around bonfires as a daily art practice in the Latvian wilderness.

A Matter of Value

A Matter of Value is new publication which aims to offer artist-run initiatives a series of practical mechanisms to communicate the inherent and sustained value of their work. It is designed to support artist-run initiatives to define their social impact, articulate their social value, and provide internal reflective exercises for artist-run initiatives.

Candyland Portraits: José Figueroa

Video interview from the Candyland Portraits series. On June 1, 2012 José Figueroa started biking from Kiruna (north of Sweden) and had as goal to reach Trelleborg (south of Sweden) a total of approximately 2000 km. On the bicycle rack José mounted a camera that was programmed to take a picture every ten seconds, both while he cycled and during short breaks.
José Figueroa is an Argentinian photograper born 1973 in Cordoba.

As its current Director, Paul de Guzman founded MAA in Vancouver in 2010 and collaborates with individuals and organizations on sitespecific projects and curatorial presentations.

KOLEKTIF is a platform for contemporary art and design founded in 2009 by Teodora Kotseva (art manager), Rossi Sotirova (artist) and Nikoleta Tashkova (designer).
